- Pray for the Bible School graduates. Pray that they would be sensitive to God's leading as they strive to serve Him.
- Pray for the new Bible School students and for a great start to school come September.
How to get involved...
Through prayer: An effective ministry is dependant upon fervent prayer! If you would like to receive our quarterly updates by mail and/or email, either click here to sign up or contact us by e-mail.
Through finances: Financial support can be sent to the Mission Board address in the footer below made payable to Word of Life Fellowship and including "Bartos Support" in the memo section. Online donations can be made by visiting www.wol.org/giving. Under "Optional Information" please specify your donation to "Bartos Support".
Through action: For some hands-on experience and a closer look at the ministry, consider planning a short-term ministry trip. We need conversational language instructors for summer camp, work teams to help with renovation projects, and sports coaches. Come alone or organize a group from your local church.

Summer Camp
Camp got off to a very HOT, but very great start. During week five, the temperature hit a record-breaking 42 degrees (in the shade), which may sound like just 10 degrees above freezing, but in celsius it's 107°F! The extreme heat caused us to change the camper's schedule a bit. The games and coaching began right after breakfast, and morning Bible hour was shifted to the afternoon, to keep them out of the sun during the hottest hours. Merciful rain fell this week and cooled it down a bit.
As we sit down to try to communicate how the ministry is going, we fear that it could sound similar to any other camp report we've sent out over the years. It is true that year after year many of the tasks that need completed are the same. However, there is something that makes each season, even each week, unique. Every Sunday afternoon a new group of young lives enter the castle gates to spend a week at Word of Life camp.
And their young hearts, prepared ahead of time by God to hear His message of love and salvation, make each year and each week unique. And those young hearts are the reason we are serving here. For instance...
Do you remember Gergő and Gina? Four years ago we introduced them to you. When we first met them Gergő was 10 and Gina was 9, and they were living with their grandmother. In the past 6 years Gina has been to camp about 4 times and Gergő about 2 times. Growing up their life became more and more difficult.
Gina was soon put into an orphanage because as she got older it became harder for her Grandmother to handle her. From then on her life was going downhill as fast as a roller coaster. Bad choices and bad friends pulled her into the deep and dark pit of sin. She started drinking, smoking and got addicted to drugs. She is only 15 years old.
She is searching for hope, acceptance, love, care. She does not want to be important, she just wants to matter. When Andris talked to her this summer she broke down a little and cried when she told
Andris of a camper’s mother who called her daughter to see how she is doing in camp. She has nobody in this life. We do not know why but, it seems that the grandmother does not allow her to get in touch with Gergő, who she misses so much. The last time she talked to him was 2 years ago. Seeing her reminds us that this life is not fair. Please pray for her as well as for her brother. She is in such great need of the love and forgiveness that only Christ can give.
As we draw near to the end of the camping season, please pray for the endurance of the summer staff and the remainder of the campers. Pray that we would serve Him faithfully to the end. We appreciate your faithful support of this ministry!
Bible School Graduation
Graduation is always a bittersweet day, full of
the satisfaction of accomplishment, the excitment for the future, and the sadness of saying goodbye. We congradulated another class of Bible School students this spring. We look forward to seeing where God will lead them and how they will serve Him in the future. Please pray for them as they seek to follow His will and grow closer to Him daily.
Come September we will welcome another class of Bible School students. Some have no farther to come than a few towns, but some have quite a trip to make. We are expecting 30 to 35 new students from Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Germany, Brazil, USA, Canada, Kenya, Uganda, and Nigeria. Please pray for them as they physically and spiritually prepare to come. We look forward to getting to know and love each one of them.
