  4. Pray for the upcoming Ladies Conference and for Angie’s preparations.

Great Opportunities...

We have had great opportunities for ministry these past few months. As the Bible School started up after break, we held our annual Missions Conference. It was a great experience. Dr. Ron Blue was our main speaker. Our focus was the Middle East, featuring a project to raise money to supply Bibles to be distributed in a country in the middle east. Andris admitted later his disappointment at first hearing the goal of the project. He thought, ‘can’t we think of a more creative project than to simply purchase Bibles?’ But that thought didn’t last long, because he recalled last spring when we were stateside, and two couples approached us with generous donations to purchase Bibles for the campers in need. It was such an encouragement to us, and a wonderful feeling to be on the receiving end of such a gift. And it was a great blessing to have Bibles ready to give to any camper in need. We were amply inspired when we filled out our own Faith Promise card to contribute to the Bible project!

Staff Training Weekend

Angie has had a great opportunity to disciple one of our interns, Andrea Jennings. As we mentioned in a previous update, Andrea is an American from Michigan, and is serving here as Academic Secretary. She is a sweet girl and Angie has loved the time getting to know her better. Please continue to pray for wisdom for Angie as Andrea turns to her for counsel. Angie is also now leading the Bible Study for all of the female interns. Pray that she would be a Godly example to them, and that Angie and the girls would learn and grow considerably as they study God’s Word together.

Ladies Devotions

We are currently in the midst of our summer staff training, including camp counselors, helpers, and Andris’ program staff. Pray for a productive time of training and spiritual encouragement to these young volunteers. Pray that God would supply the staff that we need, and especially that we would have enough male counselors. Pray that God would prepare each volunteer for effective service to Him this summer.

Great Expectations...

34 weeks
right: 34 weeks down... 6 more to go!

It has been an exciting, tiring, wonderful 7½ months and we are greatly anticipating the arrival of our little munchkin in May. Andris’ parents are planning to come visit (and help) just after the baby is born. Angie’s parents already have their tickets for a week-long visit in early June. Thank God for family! Everything has gone so smoothly up until this point. Please pray with us that there would be no complications in the birth, and that we can welcome a healthy little baby into this world in May.

On the first Saturday in May (two weeks before Angie’s due date) we will hold our annual Ladies Conference. As conference coordinator, Angie has a lot of preparation work ahead of her. Pray that she will be able to concentrate on these preparations, in the midst of the excitement of a baby on the way. Pray for our speaker, Carol Estes, that she would be sensitive to God’s leading as she prepares what she will share with the ladies. Pray for the ladies who will attend, that their hearts will be ready to soak in His message to them.

Great Generosity…

We are excited to report that we now have over 75% of the needed funds to replace our dying car. The generosity of God’s people has overwhelmed us this past year! We continue to pray that we would be able to replace the car before the baby arrives in late May. We know that His timing is perfect and that the car will arrive just when we need it. Thank you to all who have generously contributed! May God bless you richly!
